Outgrowing your house?

Adding beats moving.

When the house fits the neighborhood but not the family, an addition is usually the better math. We've been building additions onto Raleigh-area homes since 1996 — bump-outs, full second stories, in-law suites and sunrooms that look like they were always there.

Additions are the most technical work we do in a home: foundations, framing, tying new rooflines into old ones, matching siding and trim on a house that's had thirty years of sun. It's work we're genuinely proud of, and we're happy to show you finished examples nearby.

Addition questions

Home addition FAQs

Yes — additions require building permits and inspections, and some lots have setback or impervious-surface limits that shape what's possible. We handle all of it: we check your lot, draw the plans, pull the permits and schedule every inspection.

Once permits are in hand, most additions run a few months depending on size and complexity — a sunroom is faster than a second story. The permit review itself takes time too, and we'll give you a realistic total timeline before you sign anything.

That's the whole point. We match rooflines, siding, windows and trim so the new space reads as original construction. Where an exact material is discontinued, we'll show you the closest options and mock it up before committing.

Often, yes — finishing space you already have is usually the least expensive square footage you can buy. We'll look at both options during the estimate and tell you honestly which one makes more sense for your house and budget.
